Ah sexting, no-one really does it, right?

Wrong, it turns out that eight out ten adults have sent or received sexually explicit messages in the last year - according to a new study.

Psychologists from Drexel University, Philadelphia surveyed 870 men and women aged 18-82 asking about their sexting habits, reports the Independent.

82% of those involved admitted to sexting in the last year with 88% admitting to having ever received or sent sexts.

The survey also found that 76.1% of sexting takes place in the home but that 30% had sent sexually explicit texts while out - including at work.

Additionally, researchers found a positive correlation between sexting and sexual satisfaction…good times for all.

The study’s co-author,Emily Stasko said: ‘Sexting has received growing attention as a risky activity, associated with numerous other risk taking behaviours… This approach fails to account for the possible positive effects of open sexual communication with a partner.

‘This research indicates that sexting is a prevalent behaviour that adults engage in for a variety of reasons.

‘Although the relationship between sexting and relationship satisfaction requires further attention, these findings indicate a robust relationship between sexting and sexual satisfaction.’

So it seems that you shouldn’t just use your phone’s camera for Instagramming meals involving quinoa…if you get our drift.
