New Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 Trailer

The first official trailer for Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 has been released, giving a hint of the violent rebellion against the Capitol's corrupt government.

A teaser for the film was shown at Comic-Con earlier this year but now a longer clip has debuted.

It shows Katniss Everdeen, played by Jennifer Lawrence, reluctantly agreeing to become the revolution's "mockingjay" - or poster child.

"I never wanted any of this, I never wanted to in the Games," she says in the clip.

"It's the things we love most that destroy us," Katniss is told by President Snow as she fights to save her sister and friend Peeta Mellark, played by Josh Hutcherson.

The film is an adaptation of the first half of Suzanne Collins' third book in the Hunger Games trilogy.

It also stars Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The previous instalment, Catching Fire, was released in November 2013 and went on to take $864.6m (£534m) worldwide.

Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is released in the UK on November 20.

The final part of the series will be released exactly a year later.
