Injured Tiger Withdraws From Open

Tiger Claims Stunning Victory

Tiger Woods has withdrawn from the Open Championship as his injury woes continue.

The three-time champion will miss the event for the second time in four years.

Woods injured himself during the Masters in April. He was confident he would return in time to play at Sandwich, but the 14-time major winner has been advised against rushing back.

"I am only going to come back when I'm 100% ready. I do not want to risk further injury," Woods said. "That's different for me, but I'm being smarter this time. I'm very disappointed and want to express my regrets to the Open fans."

"I think my best years are still ahead of me and I'm very confident and optimistic about the future."

Woods will be replaced at the major by fellow American Jason Dufner.
