‘I’m Not Making This Up!’: Churchgoer Snaps LIZARD MAN Running Past Her

This really is the actual picture that a churchgoer took of a lizard man running past her after it emerged from a swamp in South Carolina.

Despite looking like a man in a lizard costume filming for a low-budget movie, the woman who took the picture insists she isn’t making the story up - and this is exactly what she saw.

The woman - known only as Sarah - contacted news stations herself after seemingly discovering the existence of a fast-moving human lizard.

She told ABC News 4: “My hand to God, I am not making this up. So excited.”

As if her outstanding picture wasn’t proof enough, a man filmed what he believes was the same creature earlier this year.

The footage shows a creature on two legs wandering around in the distance while the cameraman hides behind a tree.

He said: "Though my wife believes me that it’s real, she said she would be embarrassed that everyone would think I was a loon so I kept it a secret…

"If you’re wondering I absolutely believe it’s real…

“When it noticed me I high tailed it out.”

These are not the first sightings of a so-called lizard man roaming the Scape Ore Swamp in Bishopsville, South Carolina.

Urban legends date back 30 years, the first story emerging in 1988 of a driver who claims he was chased by the creature while trying to change a tyre at night.

The most recent sighting before this photo surfaced was in 2011, when a couple say their car was mauled overnight.

Former FBI special agent Ben Hansen - a sort of real-life Fox Mulder - told the Huffington Post that the latest photo was simply a publicity stunt.

He said: "This is an example of somebody pulling off a hoax by leaving nothing for the imagination.

"I wouldn’t be surprised when we see such blatant hoaxes like this come out that they are direct publicity stunts for tourism.”
