M1 vehicle fire closes one lane between junction 27 and 28 southbound as emergency services called

A lane has been closed on the M1 this afternoon (April 13) due to a vehicle fire. The lane has been closed on the M1 Southbound between J28 A38 (Alfreton / Mansfield ) to J27 A608 Mansfield Road ( Hucknall / Underwood).

The incident was first reported at around 2.30pm. Traffic monitoring service Inrix is reporting that traffic is queueing, however traffic cameras suggest congestion and eased.

National Highways expects that normal traffic conditions will return between 4.30pm and 4.45pm.
