Man arrested after police stop outside Hovertravel terminal

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a police stop outside an Isle of Wight ferry terminal in Ryde yesterday (Friday, April 26).

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary arrived on Quay Road on Ryde seafront at around 3pm.

Outside the Hovertravel terminal and former Ryde Arena (ice rink), officers stopped a Hyundai Getz and searched inside the vehicle.

At the scene, a 47-year-old man from Ryde was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

A police spokesperson said the man has since been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
