Miley Cyrus To Marry Hunger Games Actor

Miley Cyrus has become engaged to her film actor boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, it has been announced.

The former Hannah Montana star said yes to the Hunger Games actor after he proposed with a 3.5-carat diamond ring from jeweller Neil Lane on May 31.

Cyrus , 19, told People magazine said: "I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam."

She has since tweeted : "Life is beautiful".

Australian Hemsworth , 22, began his career acting in Neighbours playing wheelchair-bound Josh Taylor before trying his luck in Hollywood.

The pair met while working on romantic drama The Last Song in 2009.

He said: "What happened happened and we've been together since.

"She makes me really happy. When you start, you want to be professional, but when you're filming those scenes with someone and pretending to love them, you're not human if you don't feel something."

The pair briefly split in 2010.

Cyrus, who is the daughter of singer Billy Ray Cyrus, has previously dated Nick Jonas and model Justin Gaston.

Hemsworth is the younger brother of Avengers actor Chris Hemsworth, who became a father for the first time last month.
