New iPhone brings full voice control to UK at last

Good news for iPhone users in the UK - Apple's new iPhone will finally be able to find local restaurants using voice command.

The new phone will offer turn-by-turn navigation, reviews and phone numbers for local restaurants, all accessed simply by talking to the phone.

Previously, users of Siri, Apple's voice-control software, were greeted with a message saying the feature was only available in the U.S.

UK users will now be able to search for local businesses, get directions and hear reviews. Unlike US users, they will not be able to book using Siri.

Users will also be able to check cinema showing times and reviews using the application.

Apple has launched a page for users to check which features are available in their country.

Apple says, 'Siri not only understands what you say, it’s smart enough to know what you mean. So when you ask “Any good sushi round here?” Siri will reply “I found a number of sushi restaurants near you.” Then you can say “Hmm. What about pizza?”

'Siri remembers that you just asked about restaurants, so it will look for Italian restaurants in the area. And Siri is proactive, so it will question you until it finds what you’re looking for.'
