Number crunchers at Yahoo! have worked out that the official London residence of the Queen is the most popular search term. The palace will provide a spectacular backdrop to Monday's Diamond Jubilee concert, with stars like Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John and Kylie Minogue playing in front of the Queen, 10,000 Diamond Ticket winners and a TV audience of millions.
The second-most popular search term - the Diamond Jubilee Pageant - will be the highlight of Sunday's programme of events. More than one million people are expected to line the bank of the Thames to watch a 1,000-strong flotilla of boats take to the waters, with the Queen traveling on a specially-decorated royal barge.
Also attracting plenty of interest is the lighting of the Jubilee Beacons, the Queen’s visit to the Epsom Derby on Saturday and Windsor Castle.
But non-Jubilee attractions have received almost twice as many searches as the Diamond destinations, according to Yahoo's figures.
Alton Towers is the most searched for non-Jubilee attraction, followed by Legoland and Chessington World of Adventures, suggesting that many people are just looking to plan fun family days out.
Nick Petche, senior editor at Yahoo!, said: "These searches show how Jubilee fever is taking hold across the country, from events being held in the capital to street parties up and down land."
