Harry Drives Carriage Into Polo Match

Prince Harry has taken a leaf out of his grandfather's book and arrived for a charity polo match in Brazil at the reins of a horse drawn carriage.

The 27-year-old drove two grey horses into the polo ground at Haras Larissa, an exclusive Brazilian hotel and estate in the heart of the Sao Paolo district, for what was the final event of his first solo tour.

Wearing a smart blazer, an open-necked shirt and sunglasses, Harry beamed as he drove the carriage around the polo field before the match held in aid of the Sentebale charity.

The charity helps orphans and vulnerable children in Lesotho and the match was the third Sentebale Polo Cup held to raise money and awareness.

It was co-founded by Harry in 2010. Sentebale means "forget-me-not" in Sesotho, the language spoken in Lesotho.

Harry , an accomplished polo player like his father and brother, led the Sentebale team against a St Regis side and was fully involved in the action-packed game.

At one point, he was in front of an undefended open goal 40 metres away but cried out in disappointment when he missed the target.

And he showed his sensitive side when one of the opposing players suffered a fall - leaping fron his pony to help his rival who later rejoined the action.

Sentebale won the match 6-3 and Harry was presented with a trophy to mark the win. Brazilian model and TV presenter Fernanda Motta, 30, was on hand to kiss the winning team on the cheek.

When Harry received his, he clenching his fists in celebration - prompting laughter from the crowds.

The match rounded off a successful four-country tour organised as part of the celebrations to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Harry's schedule has heavily reflected the 27-year-old's commitment to underprivileged children.

During his trip to Rio de Janeiro, he visited one of the city's most notorious favelas to open a new community centre for the underprivileged.

He also opened a new community centre funded by Sport Relief and supported by other organisations including the British Embassy in Brazil .

On Saturday, Harry took part in a game of beach volleyball at an event in Rio de Janeiro to promote the London Olympics and Brazil's 2016 Games.

And he showed his playful side by donning a face mask of his brother William during a charity fun run.

His seven-day tour has taken in Belize, the Bahamas and Jamaica as well as Brazil and is part of a series of trips by the Royal family on behalf of the Queen in her Diamond Jubilee year.
