Dog owner dyes her beloved pet purple and blue - because 'he's only happy when he has different colour fur'

Stephanie Miriam, 19, dyes her Pomeranian puppy different colours because she says it improves his mood

Meet Harvey Moon, the purple Pomeranian pup who is only happy when his fur is dyed a rainbow of colours.

This is what his owner, Stephanie Miriam, thinks. She claims her timid white dog is normally shy and nervous to mingle with others.

But when his fur is electric blue, aqua marine or eye-catching purple, the two-year-old is an attention-seeking bundle of fun.

Stephanie, 19, from Bournemouth, first dyed her beloved pet for a music video.

Now the pooch has taken become a local celebrity, as Stephanie takes him on tours of the south coast of England showing off the dye job.

Support worker Stephanie said: "He has always been a lovely dog and he has always been very well behaved but he was quite quiet and quiet reserved.

"But when we dyed him green for the video he just came out of his shell.

"He was just a bundle of fun and actually went out his way looking for attention.

"As the dye washed out he started to get quieter again so it was suggested that I dye him a different colour.

"Once he was dyed again he was back bouncing about so we havenÂąt looked back. It obviously makes him happy."

But Stephanie has said that she did have reservations at first and was determined to make sure that the dye was safe for her furry best friend.

She said: "The dye itself is all vegetable based so it makes his fur really soft and actually improves its condition.

"When I first had discussions about doing it I made sure that everything was safe for Harvey.

"Harvey is my best friend, he is my baby. I donÂąt know how to put it any other way because he is the best companion I could ask for."

Harvey Moon signed up with exclusive London Pet Models at the beginning of this year.

The lucky pooch was chosen to appear in a new music video for hit band Roll Deep and was turned green with safe vegetable-based dye.
