Ross Hutchins In Remission From Cancer

Great Britain Davis Cup player Ross Hutchins has revealed he is in remission from cancer.

Hutchins, a close friend of Wimbledon champion Andy Murray, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in December and underwent six months of chemotherapy.

The 28-year-old's last session was a month ago and he has now been told he is on the mend.

"Was a big day today," Hutchins tweeted. "Met my oncologist and I am now in remission. So grateful to fantastic Professor Cunningham and his team at Royal Marsden [Hospital]."

Murray had hinted at the good news to come with a tweet earlier on Monday that read: "Just got some of the best news I've heard in a long long time... Great start to the day! Back training properly today on hard courts."

The world number two played a celebrity doubles match at Queen's Club in June to raise money for cancer charities and also donated his £73,000 prize money from winning Queen's to the Royal Marsden.

Hutchins was a regular presence in Murray's box throughout Wimbledon and was on Centre Court when the Scot defeated Novak Djokovic in the final.

Hutchins has now set his sights on a return to tennis at the start of next season.
