Sheen Blasts Axel Rose As Slash Is Honoured

Charlie Sheen has been sounding off again - this time having a dig at former Guns N' Roses star Axel Rose at a Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony for guitarist Slash.

Slash was receiving the 2,473rd star on the famous sidewalk for his axework with Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver.

Two And A Half Men actor Sheen kicked off his speech at the event in typical fashion, with a sideswipe at Slash's former GNR band mate.

"It's quite fitting I think that Slash is getting a star on the very street that Axl Rose will one day be sleeping on," he told the crowd, who erupted in laughter.

Sheen has become infamous over the last couple of years for public rants, has run into legal troubles and been in and out of rehab for drug and alcohol abuse.

He has previously engaged in public rants against Two and a Half Men producer Chuck Lorre and Warner Bros TV, which produces the show.

He was sacked from the show, in which he was the highest paid actor on American television, in March 2011, and began a manic round of media appearances talking about his "tiger blood" and "winning".

He later apologised to his replacement on the show, Ashton Kutcher, for making scathing remarks about his performance.

Sheen was involved in a high profile divorce from his wife Brooke Mueller after he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting her in 2009. He pleaded guilty to assault and completed his probation in 2010.

Slash was phlegmatic about his friend's remark.

Speaking on the red carpet, he said: "The thing I love about Charlie is ... he just does what he does and his integrity is intact and that is one of the things that I admire about him.

"So no matter what anybody else is saying, he does what he wants to do."

And he insisted that Sheen was getting over his problems, saying: "He's actually doing a lot better than anybody gives him credit for."

Speaking about receiving his star, Slash said: "I've been a part of the Hollywood fabric for a long time and to actually be appreciated by the city of Hollywood is a huge, huge honor."

The British-American rocker has sold over 100 million albums as a member of various groups including GNR, Velvet Revolver and Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators.

Currently he is celebrating the release of Apocalyptic Love, which hit number four on the Billboard Top 200.

After the unveiling of the star, Slash and Myles performed a short three-song concert for fans who won tickets through a radio test.
