Shopkeeper With Machete Chases Armed Robber

A shopkeeper has managed to scare off an armed robber by pulling a giant machete on him.

CCTV footage shows the masked assailant approach the counter of the store in Brentwood, New York, on September 25.

But as a gun is being pointed in his face the shopkeeper reaches under the counter and pulls out a bigger weapon.

The video then shows the store worker - armed with his machete - chase the would-be robber through a car park.

The assailant manages to get away from the shopkeeper - but without any money.

Police are still looking for the suspect.
