Simpsons And Family Guy Crossover: Sneak Peek

Fans of Family Guy and The Simpsons have been given a first glimpse of the moment the two animated families meet in an upcoming crossover episode.

The five-minute trailer begins with Peter Griffin and his family arriving in Springfield, unsure about what to expect.

Peter warns Stewie not to drink the water because "everyone around here looks like they have hepatitis".

In the hour-long special, called The Simpsons Guy, Homer and Peter soon bond over a shared love of doughnuts.

But their similarities soon threaten to tear them apart when they argue about their favourite beers.

The footage, which was shown for the first time at the Comic-Con convention in San Diego, also features talking baby Stewie showing Bart an extreme prank call.

The Simpsons Guy is the first of two crossovers for Springfield's animated family - a subsequent November episode of their own series, titled Simpsorama, will see them encounter the time-travelling cast of Futurama.

Simpsons producer Al Jean has confirmed that a beloved character, voiced by an Emmy winner, will die in the next season.

Some have said it could be Krusty The Clown, but there are rumours it could even be Homer - both characters are voiced by Emmy-winning Dan Castellaneta.

The Simpsons Guy will premiere on Fox in the US in September.

Meanwhile Krusty The Clown upset viewers by swearing at a time when children were likely to be watching the show, prompting complaints to Ofcom.

The washed-up boozy clown was heard to use the word "b*****d" during an edition of the programme screened by Channel 4 at 6pm in April, well before the 9pm watershed.

The station apologised for the incident which it said was due to human error and controls have been tightened to ensure that future episodes were suitable to be screened during family viewing times.
