Police and Student Protesters Clash in Venezuela on Anniversary of 2014 Demonstrations

Student protesters rallying against President Nicolas Maduro’s government clashed with police in San Cristobal, Venezuela, on Thursday, February 12, the one year anniversary of violent demonstrations that resulted in 43 deaths. Police officers in riot gear deployed tear gas and rubber bullets in an effort to disperse protesters, who were reportedly throwing rocks.
