Secretary Kerry Discusses Iran Deal During Senate Review

US Secretary of State John Kerry spoke at a US Senate hearing on Thursday, to defend against critics of the Iran nuclear deal. Speaking to the Foreign Relations Committee, Kerry said: “We set out to dismantle (Iran’s) ability to build a nuclear weapon and we achieved that.”

Speaking to members of Congress for the first time since the deal, Kerry told the hearing that it was a joint decision deal along with the four nuclear superpowers, namely China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, plus Germany.

In the deal, Iran promised to end the production of nuclear warhead capabilities in exchange for some sanctions being lifted. Credit: Facebook/USDOS
