Ukranian protesters charge EU with being silent during country’s political crisis

In Ukraine, protesters marched to the German embassy on Sunday wearing blindfolds and carrying blank signs. They accuse the European Union of staying silent during the ongoing political crisis in the country. Meanwhile, an estimated 70 thousand people gathered in Kyiv’s Independece Square where the Maidan protests have been held since November. Ukrainian opposition parties say they will continue protesting until President Viktor Yanukovych is ready to work with them. “As we continue to protest, it is the power, the president, first of all the president has to find a compromise between him, the power, and the people” boxer-turned-opposition leader Vitaly Klitschko said. Klitschko called for a continued nationwide strike until there were changes to the system of government.
