Volkswagen's US CEO Says Company 'Screwed Up' Amid Emissions Scandal

Volkswagen’s US CEO Michael Horn apologized profusely on Monday, September 21, after the German automaker was caught in an emissions scandal that has rocked the company. Volkswagen admitted 11 million cars had been fitted with software that manipulated emissions tests. The company’s share price reportedly dropped 35 percent in two trading days since the scandal broke.

“Our company was dishonest,” Horn said, speaking at the launch of a new Passat model. “We screwed up.”
