Warren Beatty has confirmed a 'Dick Tracy' sequel in the works.

The 74-year-old actor - who played the fedora-wearing detective in the 1990 movie, which he also directed - has admitted plans are in motion for a follow-up film, but doesn't want to give too much information away because it's "dumb" to talk about projects before they are made.

He said: "I'm gonna make another one. I think it's dumb to talk about movie before you make them. I just don't do it. It gives you a perfect excuse to avoid making them.

"The more you talk about it, the longer it's hidden."

The Oscar-winning star also joked he thinks of films like "vomiting", revealing he doesn't always like to make movies but feels it is sometimes necessary for him to feel better about himself.

Speaking at the Hero Complex Film Festival, he said: "I always think of making a movie like vomiting. I don't like to vomit. But I get to a point sometimes where I think, 'OK, I better go ahead and do this and I'll feel better.'

"When I finally get around to making a movie, that's why. I think I'll feel better if I make this movie."

'Dick Tracy' - which also starred Madonna and Al Pacino - made $162 million at the box office worldwide on its release.
