11.22.63: JJ Abrams And James Franco Show Coming To FOX

Star Wars: The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams’ return to TV has found a home in the UK on FOX.

11.22.63, based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel, will air exclusively on the channel this spring.

The sci-fi show stars Hollywood actor James Franco as a schoolteacher who travels back in time in order to stop the assassination of US President John F. Kennedy, hence the title.

The nine-part event series promises twists and turns as Franco’s character Jake Epping crosses paths with JFK’s alleged killer, Lee Harvey Oswald, and faces pushback from the past itself, which doesn’t want to be changed.

FOX’s Caleb Weinstein said: “The golden age of television is being driven by serialised drama. And in 2016 FOX channels across Europe are at the forefront: delivering on-demand access to the best content in the world, whenever and wherever our Pay TV subscribers want to watch.”

The highly anticipated drama is due to air in the US next month via streaming service Hulu.
