12 Aboard Small Plane Feared Dead After Crash in Guanacaste Province

The Ministry of Public Security reported an unspecified number of deaths after a small plane carrying 12 people, including 10 foreign nationals, crashed in a forested area between Corolozito and Punta Islita in the Guanacaste Province on December 31.

The national firefighters said that as of approximately 3:30 pm local time they had not found any survivors. The ministry said that the plane belonged to Costa Rican charter flight company Nature Air and had taken off from Punta Islita Airport. Credit: Ministerio de Seguridad Publica via Storyful
