150 appearance Bristol Bears forward signs new contract extension

Loosehead prop Jake Woolmore has signed a new contract extension with Bristol Bears, the club have confirmed.

The experienced prop, who joined from Jersey Reds in the summer of 2018, pens a new deal to remain with the club for a seventh season having became the 14th player to make 150 competitive appearances for Bristol on the final day of the 2023/24 season.

Bears director of rugby, Pat Lam, said: “Jake is a proven, consistent Premiership performer and one of the club’s most capped players in the top-flight, so I’m really pleased to be keeping a player of his quality and experience at the club.

“To make 150 appearances at this level is an outstanding achievement, and Wooly has made a significant contribution for the Bears on and off the field since arriving in 2018.

“He is a fantastic team man and a very popular member of the group and will continue to play an important role within the club mentoring our young players coming through especially the front rowers.”

Woolmore added: “I’m really pleased to be signing on for a seventh season at this great club and I’m excited by the potential of our young and exciting squad for next season, especially off the back of such a strong end to the 2023/24 campaign.

“Since I arrived from Jersey in 2018, Bristol has felt like home and I’m hugely proud of the city and community that we represent on and off the field.”
