A man who bagged a night at what might just be the UK's most affordable hotel says his stay was better than anticipated, and he's keen to book another visit. George Redfern, a 21 year old content creator from Wirral, ventured into Blackpool's Coco Beach Hotel, which sports a humble two-star rating on Booking.com and seems to be the cheapest stay in the country.

Anticipating a less-than-stellar experience, George was instead greeted with a level of cleanliness and quality that surpassed his expectations for the mere £16 cost. He even went as far as to provide a detailed review of his time there, recommending it as a thrifty alternative for travellers, assuming they're prepared to skip some usual luxuries.

Commenting on his experience, George said: "It surprised me how clean it was for a hotel that cheap, and I probably would stay there again. If I was to give a rating it would probably be a three and a half out of five. Probably because of the space of the room and the shower system."

In his search for the nation's least expensive hotel, George chose the Coco Beach. Recalling his first impression, he noted: "I knew a bit of what I looked like, and I knew it was going to be a run-down hotel.

"I knew it wasn't going to be the nicest.", reports the Liverpool Echo. He also recounted a minor hiccup upon arrival, stating: "It took about five minutes to get into the hotel because the landlord's phone was broken. Someone from another hotel knew who he was, and they managed to get him."

George, upon checking into his accommodation, found his room to be largely neat yet couldn't help but notice some imperfections. He remarked: "For the price it was clean, but there were marks on the curtains, and I noticed that quite early."

He went on to add: "There was spray on the wall - it will probably put other people off. I got free towel and coffee facilities. There wasn't much room in the room itself. The bed was clean, and the floor was clean but the shower didn't get too hot."
