The Red Lion in Chesham has announced it is becoming a 'nest pub' - a drink-first pub - following a £375,000 transformation.

The move has been announced by management at the Greene King-franchised pub.

It becomes the fifth-ever Greene King establishment to declare itself a 'nest pub.'

Despite the drinks focus, the Red Lion will continue to serve a range of pizzas.

Alongside regular activities for punters to enjoy, such as a pub quiz, the Red Lion will have Sky Sports and TNT Sports.

The Red Lion's franchisee, Ollie Roberts, said: "I'm over the moon to become franchisee of The Red Lion.

"Having managed this pub already, the opportunity to run it as my own pub with Greene King’s support was too good an opportunity to turn down!

"As a local myself with strong links to the community, I want to make sure The Red Lion is the hub of social life in the area. So, we’ll be sure to have lots of entertainment and community events – starting with the Euro’s which we have opened just in time for!

"The pub has had a big investment of £375,000, so no stone has been left unturned in terms of upgrading it, but keeping some of the key features and heritage.

"It looks absolutely stunning from the beer garden to the bar. I cannot wait to welcome people back to the new and improved pub!"
