Sky Sports will confirm in the next few days which Saturday fixtures in the opening couple of months of the Championship season are set for live television coverage and will subsequently be moved to suit day and time slots.

But there are already 16 Stoke City matches from August until May that are in the diary for live broadcast as part of a £935 million new five-year deal struck by the EFL.

Sky will show 10 matches on a regular weekend. That is five from the Championship and five from across League One and League Two. They will mostly be spread between Friday night and Saturday and Sunday 12.30pm kick-offs, with occasional Thursday and Monday night games too The notice periods given to supporters will be a lot longer than previously and Sky have committed to announcing their picks for August and September within a week of the fixture lists coming out. The picks up to FA Cup third round day in January will be made before the start of the season.

There are other matches that we know will be on TV because Sky are screening all opening and final day fixtures, all mid-week league fixtures, all Bank Holiday fixtures including Easter, Boxing Day and New Year's Day and every Carabao Cup tie.

The EFL and Sky confirmed in their announcement statement that "Championship clubs will be live up to 24 times per season" for league games, which means that there are still up to nine more Stoke matches ripe for selection.
