2023 MTV Video Music Awards Preshow: Watch the Livestream

MTV has kicked off the preshow for the 2023 Video Music Awards on Tuesday.

The preshow, hosted by Saweetie with Nessa, Dometi Pongo and Kevan Kenney, is being aired live on MTV, MTV2, CMT and Logo from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. PT. It is also being streamed live on MTV’s YouTube channel. Performers also include NLE Choppa and Sabrina Carpenter.

Saweetie returns to the awards show after winning the VMA for best art direction with Doja Cat in 2021, and is also a three-time nominee.

Taylor Swift and SZA are leading the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards with the most nominations. The “Anti-Hero” singer is up for eight awards, while the “Kill Bill” performer has six noms.

Both Swift and SZA are also competing in the top category, video of the year, alongside Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat and Kim Petras and Sam Smith. It is also the first year when female nominees dominate the show’s top category.

As for artist of the year, another big category, Swift, Beyoncé, Minaj, Shakira, Karol G and Doja Cat are all competing.

Performers for the night include Nicki Minaj, who is also serving as emcee, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, Rodrigo, Doja Cat, Kelsea Ballerini, Anitta, Tomorrow X Together, Demi Lovato, Karol G, Måneskin, Stray Kids, Fall Out Boy and more.

The 2023 VMAs will air live from New Jersey’s Prudential Center starting at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET.
