5 roadworks and closures causing disruption in Norfolk

Several planned roadworks across Norfolk are expected to cause delays for drivers.

Here are five works and closures that motorists should be aware of over the next seven days.

1) A10 in Southery

Work will begin on Tuesday, May 7 and will see a significant part of the Ferry Bank junction closed overnight on the A10 Southery Bypass.

The works will take place around the Lynn Road junction to completely remove and replace a section of damaged and worn-out road surface.

The road will be closed between 7pm and 6am, with traffic lights used during the day.

2) A143 in Shouldham Thorpe

The work on the A143 at Shouldham Thorpe is scheduled to start on Tuesday with the project continuing through to June.

The road near King's Lynn will be closed to traffic on several dates so that surfacing, line-painting and road stud renewal can be carried out - with overnight works beginning on May 7.

Access to properties will be maintained at all times, with a fully signed diversion route in operation for the duration of the works.

3) Heacham Roadworks

Poplar Avenue, Station Road and Neville Road in Heacham will be closed until May 10 for emergency sewer works.

A three-mile diversion route will redirect traffic via Staithe Road, Cheney Hill, Lamsey Lane and Lynn Road.

Emergency access will be maintained at all times.

4) St Crispins roundabout in Norwich

The A147 Barn Road and St Crispins roundabout, Heigham Street, Oak Street and Baker Street will be closed overnight from Monday to Friday between 7pm and 6am until Thursday, May 16.

Traffic will be redirected via a two-mile diversion route shown on site.

5) Millgate in Aylsham

The road is to close for four days from May 6 until May 10 as work begins on underground fibre optic cables.

An official nearly three-mile diversion route is in place taking drivers on the A140 to loop around the road.

A full closure is to be in place over the river from the Mill Row junction to Dunkirk Street.
