Even when filming had finished on final outing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, the cast and crew were largely stopped from taking any mementos from the set.

However, that didn't stop certain members of the cast from getting their own unique souvenir – or three in some cases – from their time filming on the series. But it seems that wands were generally a no-go "so they didn't end up on eBay", according to Warwick Davis.

But what was taken from the set? Here's six of the stars with their tales.

1. Daniel Radcliffe

It's probably only fair that Daniel Radcliffe was one of the few actors from the Harry Potter universe that was given a keepsake from the set.

Even better, he's got two that symbolise how much he grew up while working on the movies: Harry's glasses from the first movie and the seventh movie. "The ones from the first film are absolutely tiny now, but they are very sweet," he explained.

"They are all lens-less as well. There was rarely ever any glass in the actual glasses, because of filming problems with reflections."

2. Emma Watson

Radcliffe might have nabbed two souvenirs from the set, but Emma Watson can go one better as she ended up with three things.

"I took my wand, I took my Time-Turner, and I took a cloak. That's about it really," she revealed, so at least if she ever fancies dressing up as Hermione for Halloween, Watson is fully prepared to revisit her past.

3. Rupert Grint

If anyone is trying to find 4 Privet Drive, they might struggle as Rupert Grint admitted in 2012 that he "kind of stole, I suppose" the number 4 off the Dursleys' house.

But that wasn't the only thing he got from the set as he added that "they did give me Dumbledore's Deluminator at the end". A fitting farewell gift really since Ron was also given the Deluminator by Dumbledore in the series.

Grint also tried to get away with the golden dragon egg from Goblet of Fire worth "a few thousand dollars", only to be foiled. "They tracked it down and got it off us," he recalled.

4. Matthew Lewis

Of all the things to take from the set of one of the biggest movie series ever, Matthew Lewis has probably got one of the weirdest: Neville Longbottom's teeth.

"I have got the false teeth at home. My parents have this weird sort of shrine for me... and the teeth are in there. They were the bane of my life for a couple years, but it's nice to have them. It's kind of gross though," he said.

5. Alan Rickman

The legendary Alan Rickman is rightly among the people who were allowed to take props from the set.

He revealed in 2011 that he kept Snape's wand after filming, but would neither confirm nor deny that he had the frock too. "I don't think I dare tell you the answer to that," he joked. According to co-star Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) though, Rickman took a few more souvenirs during filming.

"It was very difficult to steal things because Alan, God love him, God rest his soul... He nicked all of the Gringotts coins on the very first day he did Goblet [of Fire] and swiped in and out like a supermarket," Isaacs claimed.

6. Evanna Lynch

Luna Lovegood actress Lynch planned to up-cycle the prop she got from the set and turn them into earrings for a premiere.

"I didn't steal anything but I actually got some feathers from Fawkes in [Order of the] Phoenix. I wanted to make earrings from them for my premiere dress," she explained, so at least Fawkes isn't going cold for no reason.

And one who failed – Jason Isaacs

Not everyone was quite so lucky when it came to getting a keepsake from the Harry Potter sets as Jason Isaacs found out to his cost.

"I once tried to take a copy of The Daily Prophet because there were thousands of them. I said I'd like one of those to director David Yates, who said, 'No problem mate'. I put it in my bag and when I got to the gates, they said, 'David said, can he have it back?'. It was so embarrassing," he noted.

Malfoy, foiled again!
