A24 and IMAX will keep you cool this summer. Very cool.

The next three A24 films that will be available in the IMAX Experience for its monthly screening series are the highly-anticipated director’s cut of “Midsommar” on Thursday, June 20, Mat Whitecross’ “Oasis: Supersonic” on Tuesday, July 16, and Best Picture winner “Everything Everywhere All At Once” on Wednesday, August 28.

The A24 x IMAX Present screening series continues every month for the next year, with IMAX digitally remastering classics from A24’s premium library of more than 140 feature films. Previous remastered and launched films include Alex Garland’s “Ex Machina,” Ari Aster’s “Hereditary,” and the Safdie Brothers’ “Uncut Gems.”

Screenings will be held across more than 300 IMAX locations nationwide and select locations internationally. Tickets are available here.

A24 and IMAX also collaborated on remastering Talking Heads concert film “Stop Making Sense.” “The Tragedy of Macbeth,” “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” and “Beau is Afraid” had limited IMAX releases.

And while Aster is back in IMAX with “Midsommar” this summer season, his fourth film for A24 is underway. Titled “Eddington,” the modern Western stars “Beau is Afraid” alum Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Austin Butler, Glen Powell, and Emma Stone. “Yellowstone” actor Luke Grimes, Deirdre O’Connell, Micheal Ward, and Clifton Collins Jr. additionally star.

The film is teased to follow a small-town New Mexico sheriff with higher aspirations. There have been rumors that the film is a Western set during the COVID pandemic. When a couple runs out of gas in the small town of Eddington they are at first greeted warmly — only for the town to turn nightmarish by nightfall. Writer/director Aster said during a Reddit AMA that “Eddington” is a “Western-noir dark ensemble comedy.”

As for the latest IMAX films on the docket, IMAX CEO Rich Gelfond confirmed to IndieWire at Cannes that Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis” will have a limited IMAX release regardless of the film’s distributor. The feature is still looking for U.S. distribution after debuting at the festival. “We need to do more research,” Gelfond said at the time, “but the movie will play to cinephiles and Coppola fans.”

Paul Thomas Anderson’s upcoming Warner Bros. feature starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Alana Haim, Regina Hall, and Teyana Taylor will also open in IMAX theaters on August 8, 2025. Warner Bros. has deemed Anderson’s feature an “event film” that warrants the IMAX screen.
