Abbey Clancy squirmed as her popstar past was uncovered live on the radio on Monday morning.

The 38-year-old is known for being a model and TV presenter, as well as the wife and podcast co-host of Peter Crouch. The couple first started dating in 2006 and married in 2011.

They have four children – Sophia, 13, Liberty, eight, Johnny, six, and Jack, four - together.

Abbey appeared on Radio X today where she was mortified by hosts Toby Tarrant, who is sitting in for Chris Moyles, and Dominic Byrne. Toby uncovered Abbey's popstar past, and she was not pleased by the announcement.

Toby asked Abbey if she had heard of a band from "a few years ago". He said: "They're called the Genie Queen, are you familiar with their stuff?"

Abbey replied: "That's cruel" and added: "I didn't realise I was coming on to get stitched up". Abbey explained she was working in a vintage clothes shop, Bulletproof, in Liverpool when she was 17 and had set up a band with two "hot girls" who had come in.

Toby told her the band had been "touted for big things" when she was 17 and referred to a Liverpool ECHO interview published in 2003. As part of a Q&A with the other members of the band, Anna Ord and Lauren Blake, Abbey had said at the time her "favourite man" was then-England footballer Joe Cole, now a friend of her husband's, and that her favourite things to do were to "go shopping, go clubbing, and eat Haribo sweets".

The band signed to White Noise at the time, which was owned by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark star Andy McCluskey - the man who helped propel Atomic Kitten to stardom.

When Toby played a clip of their single Fingerlickin' live on Radio X, Abbey told him: "If there wasn't a desk between us, I'd come and kill you".
