Aberdeen's fixtures for the new Premiership season have been confirmed as the Dons kick-off the 2024/25 campaign away at St Johnstone.

New manager Jimmy Thelin is preparing his squad for their upcoming Premier Sports Cup group fixtures, which will see the Reds take on Airdrie, Dumbarton, East Kilbride and Queen of the South in July.

And with excitement building for life under the Swede, fans have now gained a clearer picture of how their new season will look.

Aberdeen open their campaign with a trip to Perth in a Monday night kick-off, with the game set to be televised on Sky Sports, before rounding out their first five games against St Mirren, Kilmarnock, Ross County and Motherwell.

At Christmas time, the Dons end 2024 with a Boxing Day battle with Kilmarnock at Rugby Park before ending 2024 with a Dundee United clash at Tannadice, while the first game of 2025 comes at homes to Ross County.

They then end the run of fixtures before the Premiership split with Pittodrie visit from Rangers, and Thelin will be hoping to have done enough to steer his side back into European football by this stage.

Last time Aberdeen made the trip to St Johnstone an incident packed encounter saw the Dons take a point back to Pittodrie, with VAR dominating the battle.

This time they will be hoping to take a big three points off the Saints to bring a bright start to Thelin's run as a Scottish Premiership boss.

And it will see an immediate reunion for two new faces in the Reds camp, with new keeper Dimitar Mitov and goalkeeping coach Craig Hinchliffe both signed by Aberdeen in recent days from St Johnstone.

The month of October will be the big test for Thelin, kicking off with a visit from Hearts on October 10.

The Red Army will be made to wait a while before facing either of the Old Firm duo, with the first battle with Celtic coming on October 19 at Parkhead, before they host Rangers on October 30 in a midweek evening kick-off.

Sandwiched in between is the first clash of the campaign with Dundee United, who they entertain at home with a 3pm kick-off on October 26.

With the run to the Premiership split also crucial, there are some tricky tasks on the horizon, with Celtic and Rangers fixtures in the final six games.

The season then concludes on the weekend of May 17/18 which will see Aberdeen take on their final post-split fixture; something fans will be hoping brings more joy in the top six than last term's dismal bottom six finish.
