Drivers are fuming over 'chaos' on the roads. The delays are being caused by roadworks in Nuneaton.

There are temporary traffic lights near the railway bridge junction that links Mancetter Road, Nuneaton Road and Woodford Lane. One motorist told CoventryLive that last night (May 15) congestion caused by the lights had led to traffic being backed up along Woodford Lane, from the the bridge to the A5 and was preventing traffic turning off the A5.

"It was absolute chaos, with half an hour delays, " the motorist said. "Surely someone somewhere with brains should address it."

The impact of the lights is also hitting traffic heading from Hartshill, over Clock bridge, as well as journeys coming from Nuneaton, along past the Sarval site, formerly known as DeMulders. One motorist took to social media this morning and said the situation 'needs sorting'.

They claimed that some drivers were 'jumping the lights'. They said this was causing issues over the Clock bridge.

CoventryLive has approached Warwickshire County Council for comment. The authority is responsible for roads across the county, which includes permits for roadworks.
