It was another day for the sprinters on Friday when Phil Bauhaus claimed his and his team's first win of the season ahead of Marcel Kittel and Pascal Ackermann to make it a Germany one-two-three on stage three of the Abu Dhabi Tour.

Bauhaus completed the 133 kilometre stage in three hours two minutes and 55sec before a photo-finish decided the outcome between the Sunweb rider, Kittel (Katusha-Alpecin), Ackermann (Bora-Hansgrohe), Elia Viviani (Quick-Step Floors) and Caleb Ewan (Mitchelton-Scott).

It was the 23-year-old, though, who took the line honours which also propelled the German into top spot in the young rider classification. Viviani retained his lead with two stages remaining.
