IT's Jaeden Lieberher has revealed that there was an alternate ending to the hit Stephen King adaptation.

Lieberher, who plays Bill, has told Variety that there was a different version of the Losers' Club battle with Pennywise the Dancing Clown and, naturally, spoilers follow after the photo.

Still with us? Good. The current version of the movie ends with all of the Losers' Club defeating Pennywise in the sewers as they overcome their fear of him, but it seems it was initially going to be less of a group effort.

"I did have this scene where I climb up the tower at the end. When I'm chasing after Georgie, I climb the tower and I'm at a one-on-one confrontation with Pennywise and then I say that I'm not afraid of him, that none of the losers are afraid of him, and that's how we beat him," Lieberher explained.

"But they took those lines and put [them] toward the end, right after our big fight. So I had this whole thing where Bill Skarsgård is grabbing me and pushing me off the ledge, and I had to wear this harness. That was a more difficult scene."

As good as that scene might have been, we're definitely glad IT ends with the Losers' Club taking down Pennywise together, but maybe the scene will find its way into the 15 minutes of deleted scenes on the home release of the movie?

Lieberher also singled out Ewan McGregor as a dream casting for grown-up Bill in IT: Chapter 2, although did joke that "he might be too old": "I don't want to offend him or anything."

IT is in cinemas now.
