Adam Idah Celtic transfer bid turfed OUT by Norwich as fee and first offer 'revealed'

Norwich are said to have rejected Celtic's first bid for Adam Idah - sparking a standoff over the in-demand striker.

It was reported earlier on Wednesday that the Hoops had made their first offer for Idah who impressed on loan in the second half of last season. Their interest in bringing him back permanently was no secret and it's believed a first approach was made earlier on Wednesday afternoon.

Now Football Scotland report that first offer, in the region of £4m plus conditional add-ons, has been turfed out, with Norwich holding out for significantly more. New Canaries boss Johannes Hoff Thorup is keen to run the rule over Idah before making a decision and it seems the Hoops' first bid has not been enough to tempt them. Record Sport previously reported it would take a fee in the ballpark of £6m to bring in Idah - whose star rose during his time at Parkhead while he also further established himself as a senior Ireland star.
