Adventurous toddlers break out from nursery school to play in busy highway

When a pair of three-year-old boys seemingly got bored of all the toys in their nursery school, they decided to find fun elsewhere – on the nearby busy main road.

CCTV footage captured the two boys wandering out of the classroom and towards the crossroads, which was filled with cars.

On-duty policewoman Lai Lili, who was the first to see the boys, said: ‘I was directing traffic when I spotted the two children standing in the middle of the road.’

The boys were playing on the road in the city of Heyuan in China’s southern Guangdong Province, before two police officers rushed over to get them out of harm’s way.

‘I yelled and notified my colleagues, who ran over to usher the kids away,’ she added.

The officers stopped the oncoming traffic before ‘interrogating’ the boys as to what they were doing and why they were there.

They confessed to having sneaked out of their classroom when their teacher was not looking.

But rather than someone accidentally leaving the door open, the mischievous pair also managed to unlock the school’s gate in order to reach the road.
