Aerial View Shows Whale Breaches Near Hawaii's Maui Coast

Wildlife photographer Domenic Biagini captured incredible aerial footage of two separate humpback whale breaches off the coast of Maui, Hawaii, in early February.

Biagini, who runs the Instagram Dolphindronedom, posted a series of videos and photos to his profile earlier this month showcasing some of the interesting footage he’s captured of humpback whales near the island.

This video shows two different whale breaches, both displaying the power and beauty of the humpback whale, as it breaks through the ocean’s surface and then crashes back down into the water.

Humpback whales are known to spend their winters dwelling in waters near southern Japan, western Mexico, and Hawaii; therefore, Hawaii is a prime location for whale watching during the month of February.

“Hawaii is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to whale watch,” Biagini stated in his Instagram caption, and then asked his followers to reveal their favorite locations as well so they could discuss them together. Credit: dolphindronedom via Storyful
