Following news that one of American Horror Story's several upcoming seasons will follow in the footsteps of My Roanoke Nightmare by crossing over with other seasons, Sarah Paulson has revealed which AHS character she would most like to revive.

Paulson was speaking at this year's PaleyFest over the weekend when she was asked which personality from series past she would like to play again, having already picked up with her Asylum character Lana Winters last season.

Having been with the series since the start, there are many characters for Sarah to choose from. Could it be season one's psychic medium Billie Dean Howard? Or how about the conjoined twins Bette and Dot Tattler from season four's Freak Show?

Well, no. None of those. It turns out, it's Sarah's Coven character Cordelia Foxx who she would like to revive onscreen again.

"I would like to see [Cordelia] getting her powers as the Supreme," Paulson said during the AHS panel yesterday (March 26).

"Maybe we'll get to see that."

Foxx was the headmistress at Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies in season three, American Horror Story: Coven.

Despite Cordelia's dominating mother Fiona Goode (Jessica Lange) fighting to maintain her title as the Supreme witch, ultimately it was Cordelia who proved herself worthy after she completed all the Seven Wonders.

The show's creator Ryan Murphy has already confirmed that future seasons of American Horror Story will be interwoven with other seasons, confirming that at least a few seasons of the show all take place within the same universe.

The news comes after American Horror Story confirmed its theme for next season.

Back in February, Murphy revealed the seventh season is going to be about the recent US elections, with the first episode taking place on election night and unfolding from there.

"I don't have a title, but the season that we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through," Murphy told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.

"I think that will be interesting for a lot of people."
