Star Wars spin-off Ahsoka's cast have paid tribute to the show's late actor Ray Stevenson, following the finale of season one.

Stevenson played mercenary Baylan Skoll in the Disney+ series, which is fronted by Rosario Dawson as its eponymous lead. He completed work on the series before his death at the age of 58 in May this year.

Following a tribute via title card in Ahsoka's premiere which read "For our friend, Ray", the cast and crew of the show have posted another dedication to Instagram.

The image, which is of the 1909 painting The Wolves Pursuing Sol and Mani by artist John Charles Dollman, was posted by co-star Ivanna Sakhno with the caption: "For my friend Ray. Forever your Wolf."

The image is a reference to Stevenson and Sakhno's Ahsoka characters, the mercenary Baylan Skoll and his apprentice Shin Hati; in Norse mythology, the wolves pictured are named Skoll and Hati.

Further Ahsoka cast members, including Dawson, have commented individual tributes to Stevenson on the post.

"Grateful for you always Ray. Thank you for deepening and enriching every moment. You will forever inspire," Dawson wrote.

Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who plays Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren, commented a simple heart emoji and infinity symbol, while Eman Esfandi, who appears as con artist Ezra Bridger, added a wolf emoji.

Diana Lee Inosanto, who portrays Morgan Elsbeth (one of the last remaining Nightsisters of Dathomir), added: "To Ray, our 'Poetry in Motion', may we always be reminded of you when we look to the stars."

It's currently unconfirmed if Ahsoka will return for a second season after its finale on October 3.

Dawson, however, previously told Empire that she's "manifesting" season two.

"I'm absolutely putting it out into the universe," she said, adding: "I'm ready. I'm excited. I'm willing. I got my ice packs ready to go for season two and beyond! I would not be mad at that."

Ahsoka is available to stream on Disney+.
