Airline announces first ever winter sun programme including exclusive destination

BOURNEMOUTH Airport’s newest operator has launched its first ever winter sun programme from the airport, including an exclusive destination.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has put the winter 2025/2026 programme up for sale, with destinations including the Canary Islands, Spain and Turkey.

The airline had a ‘truly phenomenal response’ after it announced it would be coming to Bournemouth in March.

The full list of winter destinations are: Canary Islands (Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura), Spain (Alicante), Majorca (Palma), Turkey (Antalya) and Portugal (Faro and Madeira).

Madeira is an exclusive destination for Jet2 from Bournemouth.

The announcement also features good news for golfers looking for winter sun as they hit the course.

Jet2holidays has announced golf packages with rounds and selected hotels in the Canary Islands, Antalya, Algarve and mainland Spain.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Since launching our award-winning flights and holidays for Summer 25 from Bournemouth Airport, the response has been truly phenomenal, and we are delighted at how well the announcement has been received.

“In response to that strong demand, we are delighted to be putting our first ever Winter Sun programme on sale from the new base airport for Winter 25/26 too.”

He added: “By launching our Winter Sun programme for 25/26 nice and early, we are giving holidaymakers the chance to book ahead and lock in their getaway, while spreading the cost.

“With more people than ever wanting to swap the cold and rain of the UK in winter for some sunshine, we are expecting this new programme to sell quickly and be extremely popular.

“We are confident that our first Winter Sun programme from Bournemouth Airport will be a fantastic success.”

Bournemouth Airport managing director Steve Gill said: "This is fantastic news for holidaymakers and a huge vote of confidence in Bournemouth Airport.

“By launching their first ever winter sun programme from Bournemouth so far in advance Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are providing even more choice and flexibility for passengers, and we're delighted that they have seen such a fantastic response to the launch of their new airport base in March."
