'Strictly's' AJ and Kai rival Adam and Katya's 'almost kiss'

AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington have become the latest Strictly couple to "almost kiss" at the end of an Argentine Tango, rivalling Adam Peaty and Katya Jones' much-talked-about moment from last week.

Like Peaty and Jones, they danced an intense Argentine Tango and the fire of the routine seemed to spill over into the moments after it ended, as they looked like they were about to kiss.

One viewer tweeted: "Kai and AJ competing against Adam and Katya near kiss moment."

Olympic swimmer Peaty's steamy moment with Jones in last weekend's live show caused rumours to fly, but he clarified that he had simply been wrapped up in the character of the dance.

Peaty also warned about the "real life consequences" of people speculating on what was going on backstage, as his partner posted on TikTok mocking the "almost kiss".

Viewers agreed that there definitely seemed to be no shortage of chemistry between TV presenter Odudu and her partner Widdrington, and argued that they deserved more than their 34 points which put them in fourth place.

One viewer tweeted: "You can’t tell me AJ and Kai aren’t in love. The look in their eyes at the end!"

Someone else added: "So we're in agreement that AJ and Kai are in love right."

Another person agreed: "AJ and Kai there seems to be a lot of chemistry there I thought they were going to kiss at the end."

Someone else tweeted: "That was bloody amazing! That was like a steamy sex scene! You'd definitely think there was something more going on between AJ and Kai than just dancing."

Other Strictly fans thought they'd spotted something afoot between the couple before their routine even began, as they sat at their table in the studio watching the other dancers.

A viewer tweeted: "I swear AJ and Kai holdin* hands on the table!!"

Earlier in the series, Odudu and Widdrington shared what looked like another intimate moment at the end of a dance as Widdrington's microphone picked him up telling her "I love you".

Topping tonight's leaderboard were fan favourites John Whaite and Johannes Radebe, earning 38 points for their Charleston - just one point behind their series high of 39 from two weeks ago.
