Al fresco riverside restaurant launches secret supper club

Enjoy riverside views and a five-course feast at a Norfolk restaurant's new secret supper club.

Chesca's launched at Halls Old Yard along the River Yare in Reedham in April this year.

It is run by husband-and-wife team Andrew Hollingsworth, 49, and Francesca Cornish Hollingsworth, 35, and customers can dine al fresco or takeaway.

They operate from a converted caravan and an outdoor kitchen and the menu always includes pizzas, hand-cut chips, chicken wings and a firepit special.

It is open on Fridays from 5pm to 9pm and Saturdays from 12noon to 3pm and 5pm to 9pm, with everything made from scratch.

Mrs Cornish Hollingsworth started the business in 2020 during lockdown, after spotting a gap in the market, and she made pizzas in a caravan on her driveway.

She delivered them all over Reedham and this led to pop-ups at various venues, including the Post Office Tea Room in the village.

She met her now husband in 2021 and since then the menu has expanded, with Mr Hollingsworth a chef who has worked in Michelin-rated kitchens.

Mrs Cornish Hollingsworth said: "Our food is always fresh, local and seasonal and the only thing you will find in the freezer is Top Shelf Ice Cream made by us.

"Customers have been coming from quite far afield and everyone loves dining by the river."

They have now introduced a secret supper club, with a five-course menu served once a month.

The July meal will be a celebration of steak and lobster, with the date and time revealed when you join the Chesca's mailing list - though the menu is kept under wraps.

Mrs Cornish Hollingsworth added: "It is an opportunity for Andrew to play with flavours and it is something never seen before in Reedham."

The restaurant postcode is NR13 3TE, marked with a pizza slice flag, and there is free parking.
