Alan Carr is secretly related to Jonathan Ross: 'We come from the same area'
Alan Carr has opened up about secret relation to Jonathan Ross and revealed how his fellow chat show host wasn’t too pleased to find out about the news.
The beloved comedian recalled the moment he shared the news with Ross as the pair chatted during the latest episode of his Life’s A Beach podcast.
Carr, 45, called out The Masked Singer judge for having a hilariously unimpressed reaction when finding out that the duo — who are both from Margate, Kent — were “distantly related”.
The Alan Carr: Chatty Man host began: "People might not know this, but your lovely late mum came up to me at your Halloween party and said, 'We are related aren't we?' Do you remember?
"I was so excited because we come from the same area, we are distantly related. I remember going over to you saying, 'Jonathan, Jonathan your mum says we're related' and you went, 'For f*** sake'."
Ross couldn’t help but laugh as he explained: “I tried to stop her talking to people because she'd always find some famous connection."
However, Carr explained that their families had “quite a strong link” which took Ross by surprise.

"Is it really?” he replied. “I don't know if I want to be involved with you."
Ross continued: "I saw your episode of Who Do You Think You Are? and you've got a deserter in your family. I don't know if I want to be tarnished by that. We are related — I forget that.”
When Carr joked that the pair don’t look alike, Ross added: “Well, neither of us have got looks, let's be honest. But you scrub up very well, you just don't do it often!"
Ross' mother, Martha Ross, died in 2019 following a battle with cancer, and the comedian previously spoke about his guilt about not being able to visit her before she passed away.
"You know it's going to be a big loss but you don't really know how it is going to feel. I don't know if you ever fully get over it really," he explained. "What's awful is that I did see her shortly before her death but then...."
He added: "Well, she had a form of cancer but we were told that it was liveable with. We assumed she would be around for a lot longer."
