The trend for 'no and low' alcohol alternatives is on the rise. Fresh statistics reveal that people are increasingly giving up alcohol, with one in three Gen Z-ers choosing sobriety. Approximately a third of individuals aged 18-24 abstain from alcohol completely.

However, those who do indulge, typically do so as a treat, to unwind, or to celebrate a special event, as per data from Mintel. In response to this trend, Aldi has announced the launch of a new wine that has never been seen on its shelves before.

The budget-friendly supermarket is broadening its alcohol range with its first-ever 0% Pinot Grigio Blush. Priced at just £2.99, the 0% Pinot Grigio Blush offers customers all the 'refreshing flavours' of traditional rose, but without the alcohol content.

This non-alcoholic option will be available in stores from July 15. Aldi's brand-new 0% Pinot Grigio Blush is pale pink in colour and features notes of 'sweet' strawberry, balanced with a dry finish.

For those who prefer a refreshing white, Aldi is also reintroducing its popular 0% Chardonnay wine, also priced at £2.99, reports the Mirror. With aromas of white peach and vanilla, Aldi's non-alcoholic white offers flavours of melon, pear drops and lemon bon bons.

This introduction comes as demand for Aldi's 'no and low' drinks range continues to grow, particularly its Zerozecco which has seen an impressive 20% increase in sales year on year.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: "As shown by our sales, we are seeing an increasing number of shoppers coming into stores looking for new and exciting ways to enjoy lower or non-alcoholic drinks. Our new 0% Pinot Grigio Blush is just one example of how we are continuing to innovate our offering, so shoppers have versatility without compromising on the exceptional quality that Aldi is known for."
