Alesha Dixon has confessed she feared being pregnant could cost her her job on America’s Got Talent.
The 41-year-old Britain’s Got Talent star - who gave birth to her second daughter Anaya at the end of August is joining Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum as a judge on the US version of the show. But she admitted when she got the call she was worried what TV bosses would think about her being pregnant.
Dixon told ITV’s Lorraine: “Well I didn’t exactly get the call from Simon - he doesn’t own a mobile phone anymore.

“I actually got the call from NBC which was super flattering and I was pregnant at the time. There were two thoughts, one, ‘Oh my goodness this is incredible of course I want to do it!’ And two, ‘Do they know I’m pregnant?’
“And they did and that was such a relief that they didn’t see that as an issue.”
The singer - who is also mother to six-year-old Azura with partner Azuka Ononye - was back at work in her new role less than eight weeks after giving birth.
She said: “When I had Azura I didn’t leave the house for about two months, here I am Anaya is two months and I’m already in America, I’m working and it all feels right and it feels good.
“I don’t know if it’s just the fact that she’s my second and I’m more relaxed but I’m happy so nothing feels stressful.”

Speaking about being back at work with a newborn baby Dixon said, “Spanx are a girl’s best friend” and admitted she was having help from her mother.
She said: “I’ve always allowed myself to let my body to do what is naturally does. I’ve not gone on any silly diets. I think getting help has really helped, having my mum around. Sleep is everything. Honestly, when you have more than five hours sleep with a new born baby, you can take on the world.”
