Alesha Dixon tips stand-up comedian to win the next series of Britain’s Got Talent - EXCLUSIVE

Alesha Dixon wants to see a stand-up comedian win BGT, the talent show she’s a judge on.

The pop star will return to the hit ITV show alongside Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and David Walliams in January with the winner getting the opportunity to perform in front of the Queen at next year’s Royal Variety performance.

And this year, rather then a singer or crack dance troupe, Alesha wants to the crown go to a comic.

Speaking exclusively to Yahoo! Celeb, Alesha, 38, said: “I love that a magician won last year because it drives that message of variety and that anyone or any act or talent can win.

“I would love to see a stand-up comedian do well, obviously singing and dancing is my passion, but since being on the show I’ve learnt to embrace all types of talent.”

Next year will also see Alesha returning to the glamorous world of celebrity dance contests as she hosts ITV’s new primetime show Dance Dance Dance .

Talking about her new stint, Alesha said: “It’s going to be a visual spectacle and it’s a real treat because everything is in augmented reality and looks 3D.

“We’ve got a great judging panel including Ashley Banjo, Tina Langdon and Timor Steffens. It’s not about the public vote and is about the credibility of the dancers and the judges decide who stays or who goes.”

She continued: “We’ve been shooting in Amsterdam and the first one will be going out in January. I’m looking forward to it because it means I’ll be starting the year off fresh.”

Alesha recently performed at the exclusive launch of The Resort Group’s Llana Beach Hotel in Cape Verde. She was the life and soul of the party as she performed her classic Mis-Teeq’s songs alongside her solo hits.

Off stage, the former Strictly Come Dancing judge was the ultimate yummy mummy and spent time at the popular holiday destination with her three-year old daughter Azura and her partner Azuka Ononye.

The BGT Judge told us that she thinks it’s important to find a balance between her work and family life.

She said: “It’s a challenge but what I’ve found the most challenging is the demand on my time. So I guess come by New Year’s Eve I’ll be making resolutions for quality over quantity and making sure I take on projects that are more fulfilling and will allow me to spend more time with Azura, AZ, my family and friends.

“Life is about balance and its all well and good wanting to be ambitious and wanting to work hard but you have to enjoy life or what’s the point? You can’t always be work, work and work.”

And it certainly wasn’t about ‘work’ for Alesha when she hilariously took part in the mannequin challenge during her flight back from Cape Verde to London. She can be seen frozen in time while embraced in a kiss with partner Azuka.

Jason Derulo, Tinie Tempah and former X-Factor contestants Rough Copy were among the pop stars who also took part in the freezing viral video.
