Alex Reid has opened up on his short but tumultuous marriage to Katie Price, claiming he was "like a lamb to the slaughter" when he wed the headline-grabbing star.

Reid, 47, spoke to Nigel Farage for his GB News show on Monday about his much-documented relationship with model and TV star Price, 44.

The MMA fighter claimed that he had been in the showbiz world for a number of years because of his fighting career, as well as appearing in Hollyoaks and Saving Private Ryan, but said that he had been unprepared for the level of fame attached to being Price's husband.

He told Farage: "All of a sudden I'm stratospheric everywhere because of my relationship with a certain person. I'm everywhere.

"I was just swept away with it. I didn't know what planet I was on. I was like a lamb to the slaughter."

Reid had married Price shortly after winning Celebrity Big Brother, in a 20-minute Las Vegas ceremony in February 2010.

Although the marriage only lasted 11 months, Farage noted that Reid had spent years locked into rows with his ex.

Farage said: "The marriage didn't last that long. You've been going through, from what I can see of it, eight or nine years of legal action of name calling back and forth with her."

Price was fined £140,000 and given a five-year injunction banning her from sharing private details from their relationship in 2019, after she was accused of showing sex tape footage of Reid to a Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side studio audience during off-camera moments the previous year.

Reid first met Price in 2009 after she split from husband Peter Andre, and after his divorce the MMA fighter went on to have a daughter with Celebrity Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton.

Reid and Houghton split in 2012 and he now has another daughter with fiancée Nikki Manashe.

Price married Kieran Hayler after her split from Reid, but divorced Hayler in 2019 after eight years of marriage and two children together.

Mum-of-five Price confirmed she was single again last month after splitting from fiance Carl Woods.
