Alexandre Lacazette: 'No competition' with strike partner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, says Arsenal star
Alexandre Lacazette insists there is “no competition” between him and Arsenal strike partner Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang over who will score the most goals this season.
The pair have been in sparkling form of late, leading a run of nine successive wins that has seen the Gunners climb into the Premier League top four, reach the EFL Cup fourth round and get off to a perfect start in the Europa League.
Initially it looked like Unai Emery would opt for one or the other in his Arsenal line-up, with Lacazette starting the first three Premier League games on the bench.
However, the pair have increasingly been used in tandem, forming a lethal partnership of 11 goals between them in all competitions. Aubameyang is currently one ahead of Lacazette in the scoring charts, but the Frenchman insists winning trophies is more important than finding the net.

“If Auba scores 40 goals and we get Champions league and as well we win something I will be happy,” Lacazette told Sky Sports. “This season we just want to win something.
“There is no competition like who’ll score more goals on the weekend or something like that. Maybe in training because it’s better to improve but not on the weekend.”
