Alison Hammond admits watching co-star's leaked sex tape and had 'amazing' response

When presented with a leaked sex tape of her co-star, Alison Hammond retorted with a cheeky four-word comment. Joel Dommett fell victim to a 'catfish' stunt that culminated in an explicit video of him being publicly shared back in 2013.

He had been deceived into thinking he was engaging in a sexual act on Skype with a woman known as Staci Taylor, only to be unknowingly filmed in his home. Understandably shaken, Joel discovered the video had been circulating online roughly one week before he entered I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2016.

Since revealing his ordeal, Joel has been open about his experiences. During a recent episode of Sky's panel show Rob Beckett's Smart TV, where Joel appeared as part of Alison Hammond's team, the subject of his infamous sex tape came up, reports the Mirror. The discussion veered towards Paris Hilton and fame, leading Rob to ask his colleagues: "What do you think about that as a route to fame?"

Trying to deflect attention from himself, Joel quipped: "Don't look at me Rob!" This prompted Rob's witty response: "I can't look at you in the eye after seeing that."

Rob didn't let the matter drop, saying: "I don't think enough people know about that actually." Joel then conceded and shared more about this dark chapter: "I got catfished. And there's videos online of me doing things."

The Masked Singer host then revealed that his co-star Alison Hammond had also seen the video. "Alison was the only person who messaged me and went 'Seen it, you're amazing' he disclosed, prompting laughter from Alison, the audience, and fellow panellists.

In a 2016 interview with The Sun, Joel explained how the ordeal started when an attractive woman followed him on Twitter and struck up a conversation. The person behind the account persuaded Joel into having Skype sex, to which he agreed.

Last year, Joel discussed how he turned the sex tape scandal into a strength after being catfished and having the intimate video leaked online. He described how he managed to turn his situation around and found that humour was the best coping mechanism.

He also mentioned that the incident has made him a sort of advice-giver to others who have fallen prey to merciless internet fraudsters. Speaking to the Daily Mail, the entertainer said: "The way I see it is the more you hide, the more there is to find out. So instead of me going, 'Oh, no, this is the worst thing that ever happened to me,' I was like, 'This could be a funny show.'

"I was the victim and I still get people messaging me saying, 'This has happened to me. What should I do? ' My advice is separate yourself from it. Although you've been a victim you have to try to laugh it off because it doesn't help to dwell on it."
